Business Tax Fees

All businesses in the Town are required to have a Local Business Tax Receipt (formerly known as Occupational License) from the Town of Haverhill and Palm Beach County. This includes businesses that operate out of a residence (home occupations) and also rental units (homes, apartments, or condos for rent). Required information to be included with the application can be found in the application packet. Local Business Taxes are due prior to October 1st every year. Although courtesy renewals are mailed as a reminder, it is your responsibility to pay on time. Penalties are added monthly, with violation notices issued in January to those not paid.

A Palm Beach County Business Tax Receipt is required prior to the issuance of a Town of Haverhill Business Tax Receipt.

If you do not have a business location in the Town of Haverhill but engage in any type of business within the Town, you are required to register by completing a Registration Form. A copy of a valid Business Tax Receipt for the business location and proof of insurance must be submitted with your application.

Contractor Registration forms may be obtained from the Building Department or the Town website. Contractors are required to submit the following: proof of certification (state or county); Business Tax Receipt for your business location; Palm Beach County Business Tax Receipt (if applicable); and Certificates of Insurance for Liability and Workers Compensation coverage, naming the Town of Haverhill as Certificate Holder.
