BUILDING PERMITTING WORK VALUES - HOUSE BILL 803 EFFECTIVE 7/1/2026

To Our Residents and Construction Partners:

Florida House Bill 803 recently became law and provides permit exemptions for certain work valued at less than $7,500 on Single-Family homes. However, these exemptions do NOT apply within Palm Beach County.

Why?

The law excludes properties located within flood hazard areas, and all of Palm Beach County is designated as a flood hazard area under the Florida Building Code.

What This Means:

Current permit requirements remain unchanged in Palm Beach County.
